JUNE 20: Aristocraft raises ‘G’ scale track prices

Aristocraft has been forced to increase the cost of its ‘G’ scale track due to the ever increasing cost of copper. A world shortage of copper, which forms 70% of of the raw materials used in brass rails, is being blamed for the price increase, which is effective from July 1. Copper has increased in price from $1 per pound in 2005 to $3.40 today and Aristocraft can no longer absorb the extra cost. The company has also advised that the rising price of steel is forcing price increases beyond its control.
